Project: 2008 - 2009
Digital Kitchen Portraits
Photography · Portrait · Studio
Overview
During my time as a Motion Design artist at Digital Kitchen Chicago, I was commissioned to do a company wide portrait session.
Armed with my huge homemade ring light (bramble) and tungsten (hot as fuck) secondary lights, I traveled to all four offices to capture the incredible talented team in each unique setting.
Stats
- Chicago, NYC, Seattle, and LA Offices
- Studied Traditional Portrait Lighting techniques
- Over 100+ Portraits taken
Outcomes
What an incredible learning experience with this project. I was able to really step up my portrait lighting skills and learn more traditional Studio Lighting techniques.
I really loved how the soft daylight color balanced ring light played against the super warm tungsten rim lighting.
Also, it’s great working with other creative artists during a photoshoot. They come up with amazing ideas to try. Like Anthony’s copy room photo at the top of this page. Or Cody’s blurred glasses idea also featured above.
Gear
- Nikon Cameras and Glass
- Homemade Right Light
